Hi guys, I know this image is about a year old, but I thought it might be neat to let you know, the direct descendants of the man who built this mill will be visiting this weekend, September 29, 2012. Elmer E. Meyer, the grandson of William who built this mill, passed away this year and his family is gathering for his inurnment in Green Bay followed by a visit to their homeland. (about which the great grandkids know next to nothing...) Talk about Heimat and understanding your roots, and place in Wisconsin even if you don't live there, your family name does. My father's grandparents were pioneers of this town. Fresh off the boat on both sides, they settled and thrived in this village - one side owned the mill, the other the general merchants store.(Charles/Carl Heins) The nearest other store was 30 miles in the nineteenth century - a long day's journey. Sound like you have a cool project here. Good Luck.
